So, over on the PC games forum I've been gathering recommendations for PC games over the last 5 years that I've missed (due to primarily playing MMOs). During the thread a number of people have mentioned controllers as being particularly handy.

So, what gaming controller would you recommend? Anything to particularly look for or avoid?

Get the official XBox USB wired one. You don't need drivers as it's plug and play and it work with pretty much everything natively.

I use the Xbox 360 Wired for some of my games, a lot of the time games have the 360 controller compatibility built in, it it just works.
