Hi,
I've got a Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-ray player but have missplaced the remote.

Now the problem is I cant "OK" anything with the 6 buttons on the machine itself (Eject, play/Pause, Power, Skip back, Stop, Skip forward).

So when I load a blu-ray disk I can get as far as the select language screen and then get stuck. Sticking a DVD in there I can use the Play/Pause button to "OK" my selection and play the disk but just not with Blu-Ray disks.

I've tried a programmable remote with all the samsung codes I can find but didn't even get a peep out of it.

Anyone have any advice, other than "Find the remote"? :D

googling shows a replacement remote is £40 - can't see how it's gonna be any cheaper than that! Ohh and find the remote would be best!!!

well a universal remote should work. Are you sure you are setting the remote up properly and try different codes. Check the remote works by setting it up for the tv or something. Just to check you are doing it right.

It's not really a universal remote, it's a remote for the PVR that can be programmed to operate the TV and DVD player. It works on the TV, old DVD and stereo for some reason just not the BluRay!

Well at least a replacement is available.

I guess tomorrow is going to be spent dismantling the furniture.

Thanks for the help.
