Just a quick question for some of you who might of been in the same situation!

I am installing gear tomorrow into a VA8000BWS and replacing the case fans with new ones, while keeping them for additional air flow within the case.

This gives me a total of 6 fans (3x120mm / 3x92mm), would you suggest getting a fan controller unit for my 5.25 bay, or can I control all of these fans (including my GPUS) via software?

Any help would be appreciated :)

I found that using software (speedfan) I could only control half my fans, not really too sure why. Others may have had more luck though.

As for using a 5.25 bay controller, I'd recommend getting a Zalman ZM-MFC1 controller. It can be found for just over £20 with a bit of shopping around and is great! Im using one and can quieten my fans right down during films, or ramp them up for benchmarks and such

Exact one I was looking at :)

Was also having a peek at this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BB-003-SY&groupid=701&catid=1428&subcat=1429

Which one would you go for?

get the sliver 10 pounds cheaper and in stock.

Haha, same for me. I'd never really complain about OCUK, but thats one slightly annoying thing, the black versions another £10. But yea, can get it for less elsewhere (sorry OCUK :( )

I'd go for the Zalman (well I did!). Used to love the Kaze-Master but now have a Lian li case and trying to keep it looking quite simple and tidy, didnt really want a display in the front. Its personal choice really, the Kaze-Master has some better features (such as showing temps and rpms on the front, and being able to turn the fans right off) but the Zalman is a cleaner looking one, and can control more fans easier (would need splitter cables for more than 4 fans with the kaze)
