EDIT : Yes you can use the MCE Remote BUT read info in the .PDF about a driver you must use.

Thanks, i already use that to map the keys on my MCE remote.
Does it work for MPC though? have you done it?

It works as MPC has a profile in IntellRemote or if not you can download the large user made profiles from main page.

I personally do not use MPC much and I prefer VLC but I have used the basic functions in MPC messing about, I did not spend time setting it up.

Again I have the Creative Remote which this program was actually initially made to replace (Creatives crap remote software).

+1 for vlc, it's very good.

I have an MCE remote and use it with media center on vista 64 and it's great. Playback of almost any file I have found to be fine using vistacodecpack.
