Hi all,
I currently use Fractal Design Define R5 as a case, and my current fan setup is:
1x FD Fan at rear
1x FD Fan at Front
(These were already fitted in this case when I bought it, and I haven't touched them)
2x CPU Fans (2x Fans around a massive heatsink - Noctua)
1x GTX 1080TI (Fans only turns on when it is in use)
---
While I am not Gaming, all the fans are running apart from the GPU.
I have the case next to my legs, and it gets really hot when I am Gaming (like within the first 10 mins, it becomes uncomfortably warm
)
Firstly... Are all the fans required to be on, while the computer is not in use? The case ensures pretty good sound proofing, but if I can turn the front and rear fans off while I am not Gaming, it should be even quieter. How would I go doing that? (I.e Having the fans turn on and off when required).
Secondly... Is there anyway to stop it getting so hot next to my legs when Gaming? I wonder if I'm just going to need to move it from underneath the desk to on the desk...
Any advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Marky
