Hi There,

Just wondering if there is another way to control the fan speed of an nVidia graphics card (mine is a 7900GTO) other than tools nVidia provide? It seems to have no effect which setting I use and its annoying. My fan is always running at full speed and makes my computer sound like a hoover!

Thanks.

Just done this today with RivaTuner. Nice and easy :D There's a link to a guide in the "Hottest 8800GT" thread

Edit: That one ^^

Annoyingly changing fan settings in RivaTuner has no effect either. I'm running the latest drivers and WinXP SP2. Fresh install today. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately my problem is slightly different. I get a full speed fan some the second I switch the pc on, not when I hit windows or after waking the pc up from sleep!

Driver issue then, and according to that thread, Nvidia's gona fix it before the new year, its the 5th Jan today, so which year were they on about. :D

If you're feeling a little savvy you could mod your card's BIOS with NiBiToR then re-flash it, there's separate speeds for 2D, 3D and Throttle(?), by default they're all set to 100%.

http://www.mvktech.net is the best site for all that stuff

Thanks. Too tired to read all that at the moment, though, but if this carries on doing my head in I might just consider it!
