What free software is considered the best to control all rgb lighting on a pc? currently i have asus, corsair, nzxt lighting in my pc and there are some minor conflicts software installed is armoury crate, icue
i have tried openrgb but that was not detecting everything correctly and i must admit i am not the best at doing stuff like this.

My opinion signalrgb is best by a long way
Though asus armory crate runs a ton of processes
So can interfere with stuff more than even icue does
But signalrgb still works for me with armory crate installed
Though it will give a message armory crate, icue etc are conflicting
And ask if you want signalrgb to deal with it
In signalrgb you might still need to manually set some things up
I just use create a generic rgb strip and tell it 60 rgbs
That's definitely more than I have but it works fine
You can start at 10 rgbs look to see if any aren't lit up
Increase to 20 etc until they're all lit up

Ideally uninstall anything that's going to conflict
If you can't live without icue, armory crate etc
Then try telling them not to run at startup instead

Signalrgb works on my motherboard leds
Ram leds
Gpu leds
Led strips
Even offers to control my lian li fans though that one I ignore
I just set lian li software not to run at startup
Didn't need to uninstall that one

You're welcome
The free version of signal rgb offers plenty of preset effects
From memory which isnt my strong point lol
Think you have to make an account to see more free effects
but doesn't ask for payment details or anything
There's a paid version that offers stuff like
Synchronisation of your leds to certain games and stuff
But I found plenty in the free version to keep me happy

***Thread hijack***

Saw this as my son has me doing an RGB build for him, Signal is great and does have a load of presets, love it.

I have 5 fans daisy chained to 1 D-RGB port on the mobo and a couple of RGB strips in his case plugged into another D-RGB header on the mobo, this works decently but I (OK he) would like more control so I would like to break down the daisy chain into individuals....Can either of you, or anyone reading, recommend a D_RGB hub (controller) type thing that adds channels to a D-RGB header to increase the individually controlled fans attached to that header?

I have a real mix of fans from EK to Bitfenix....they are working so far but as a block.

Have a look at razer chroma argb controller
Think it can take any standard 5v argb connector and 6 channels
There's also corsair hubs
But can't remember if you're stuck with using corsair devices
Ie a proprietary connector
Never tried razer software so can't say how good it is
But if its not I think signalrgb can handle it

just to update this
not sure about fans/rgb daisy chained to 1 rgb header
though may also work actually
but just been digging deep into signalrgb settings
instead of just picking a preset and leaving it
not only can i control lian li al120 in new version of signalrgb
but i can control individual fans on each channel
i can even control individual leds on everything
so yeah should actually work on daisy chained fans i think
as should be able to create a custom led instead of saying theyre fans
since my led strips actually 2 strips daisy chained together so same idea
as a few fans daisy chained
i just created a custom led strip--started at 10 leds then kept increasing
until all the leds were lit
then in devices section mouse over your custom strip
you get 2 options x (delete) or a cog icon for settings of it
then you have 2 options settings or lighting
click lighting
you then have the option to paint however many leds whatever colour you want
i applied a preset first to make life easy
then messed around painting individual leds to alter it

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I’m torn between Aura and SignalRGB.

I currently have:
Corsair RAM - controlled by iCue
Phantek fans x3 - undecided how to control them (will connect directly to MB)
One led strip - controlled by creative command (connects to the AE5 sound card.

Thoughts?

Signal rgb is leaps and bounds
Above asus aura

Good to know, I’ll give it a whirl.
Only need free version
It's got everything you need
Now controlling my lian li al120 too
Something like 7 different manufacturers leds
In my build lol
It's controlling all of them ;)
Actually surprised there's even a free version it's so good
Can dig in the settings all the way if you want
And individually "paint" every led

Don't forget if windows 11
Microsoft are getting into the unified led fray too now
Though so far it's picking up not many devices
And the options/presets are basic
Like static colour, breath and only couple others
If I was Microsoft
I would buy out signal rgb in an instant

So, if you use signal rgb do you actually fully uninstall the like of armoury crate, icue, nzxt, and finally g-hub?
i have all of the above in some way shape or form running on my system. i notice the free version of signal rgb does not control the fan's
what would i do there?

You can leave armoury crate in
If you need it for anything other than rgb
Just uninstall the parts relating to asus aura
I only have armoury crate for my motherboard oled display
Otherwise would totally uninstall it
It's forever going wonky
Ghub can also leave in for features other than rgb
Icue I uninstall
I don't have nzxt so can't comment on that one

im using openrgb for 1 yr for asus gpu and motherboard to turn off all leds...is there something better now
Signal rgb
Think the guy created open rgb is involved
With signal rgb
Though my memory sucks lol so could be mistaken
Last time I tried open rgb it was kind of basic
Signal rgb is much more polished
Though if you just want to turn off the leds
Then shouldn't matter
Thought you could do that in the bios anyway?

thanks will check it out..i heard the same for motherboard but havent found the setting for TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS...pretty sure softwares need for TUF-RTX4090-O24G-GAMING though

Pretty sure I can in my x570
No idea about am5 boards though

But could also try armoury crate it should be able to
Though must admit I don't like it
Probably OK if install it but don't update it
Tends to go wonky with some updates
