Convenience stores/Newsagents

I'm not going to buy drinks from my local shop anymore, the woman charged me £1.70 for a newspaper and a 500ml drink, crazy.

I haven't bought a 500ml drink for ages but thought they cost about 80p.

That seems about right =( 500ml drinks are £1 - £1.20 around here at least, my college was charging £1.30!

I have 15 liters of coke in the garage so I'm happy :D

my mate actually asks for drinks that are not chilled.

apparently cold drinks are bad for the digestion.

Absolutely correct.

They also stop your stomach from digesting food properly - as the proteins are not broken down quick enough, make your oesophagus go into spasm (as well as solidifying any fat that's in there - turning it into a solid - only for it to stick there making you cough more - and unable to swallow it down quick enough to digest)

Cold drinks also irritate your lips - which causes them to dry out / and more importantly - make them more susceptible to cold sores and broken skin.

Last but not least - any liquid that is not at body temp (or is very low) - around 0-4 degrees C - will not only damage gums, but will also cause hairline fractures in the teeth enamel and cause structural problems in the dentin - making you more likely to need fillings / crowns etc.

Drink that cold stuff all you want.........;)

Hot damn, this thread took a disappointingly (although interesting) informative turn! ^ In any case I think I'll stick to cold beer and hot tea.

It's totally energy bills man. They've been stealing my petrol

I'm unable to find information about this online - by basic googling/snopes at least. Are you sure it's true?

Why do people even use convenience stores? they are terribly over priced, I see the same people use the one at the end of my road and they are blatantly people with not much disposable income and they choose to do their shopping at the corner store rather than walk a few extra yards to the Aldi or Asda store up the road :-(

Red Bull clones are 35p at the convenience store, where as a 6 pack of Asda Blue Charge is anything from £2.20-£2.49 depending on which day of the week you visit Asda. Go figure.
