Hi

I have an old OLEY D8H LCD projector, unfortunately the cooling fans are loud and flood tge room in fan noise. This annoys me to high heaven so I stopped using it 2 years ago.

Recently I found that ikea is selling blackout blinds for £20 that would be perfect as a projector screen. Thus I dug this out to see if I can solve its problems and bring it back into action.

It uses 4 x 70mm fans which have massive rpm to keep a 300w lamp cool.

I plan to replace the lamp with a diy 30w LED lamp which is a 2700lm output at a 6500k white.
This will give out far less heat than the older lamp, thus allowing me to undervolt the fans or evan remove 2 of them and undervolt the remaining.

Im just about to have lunch so will update with more detail and pics soon

Been Waiting for the LED and Driver to come.

I have a 50W LED such as this arrive
dx.com/p/prime-50w-4000lm-led-emitter-metal-plate-silver-white-yellow-22v-25v-42135

Which side is the + and which is the -???

They are both on the left of mine and only one tab next to them... its very odd

Here is a a diagram of what i mean

On which side do i wire the Red and Black wires too?

I don't want to get them mixed up!

Upon finding this info out i will update with some pics of the progress :)
