Convert internal bluray drive to external?

You could get a Sata to USB converter.

You used to be able to buy external 5.25 bays for drives to convert IDE to parallel or serial, there must be a modern version of that - IcyDock might do one?
 
Yea there are quite few brands which supply them such as Startech USB 3.0 to Slimline SATA ODD Enclosure for Blu-ray & DVD ROM drives
