convert phpbb forum to HTML

I have a phpbb 2 forum, that I will be closing and restarting afresh on a phpbb3, I can not convert it due to the design of the new site, but I want to archive it off to HTML so we can still look at it.

Does anyone know of a way of doing this? Looked on the phpBB forum but all the v2 stuff is archived off.

Wouldn't it be better to port the database over, but just put it in a Archive parent forum?

I can't see how a design would reflect the database that much unless you've really hacked it to bits!

The only option I can think of is to get a program that will crawl the whole website and save it as a whole.

I have tried to port it, but comes up with errors during the conversion process that phpbb guys can not seem to work out.

By design of the site I am using a combination of Joomla with phpbb3 briding to link usernames, so would prefer people to sign up again, this also clears out the old users who don't log on etc.

Have you come across any programs like that?
