Convert .VRO file into MPEH/DivX

I have a DVD-RW disk here with a .VRO file on it, it plays fine with a codec pack in Media player but I can't edit it

Its on the hard-disk but editors either can't load it or loose the sound.

Any good, free converters to anything that is actually usable without loosing much quality?

I too have had some problems recently with the same .VRO files. I can play them on the PC , but converting them means I lose sound or it's gonna take 15 hours to convert. I can open them up to edit them in VideoReDo and save the clip as an avi file or .VOB, I can even rename the .VRO file to .MPEG but I cannot import into Pinnacle.I can encode the entire file to a .VOB but without the .IFO &. BUP files I cannot turn it into a DVD. Problems , problems !
