convert vts_vob to something that plays in wmc

just downloaded a film its come down ready to be burnt to dvd but i need it to play through indows media center, can someone point me in the direction of a good free app and suggest the best format to convert it to, many thanks

Handbrake.

Use the High Profile preset.
