convert youtube videos to .mp3

anyone know how to take a youtube video and only download the sound/music and convert that into a .mp3 file or a file supported by itunes?
 
Ah, it only seems to do up to 128kbps. I still like it as it allows you to convert to loads of different file and format types. but yeah, your might be better if you want a higher bit rate. Although having said that, does youtube save files at anything over 128kbps in the first place?
 
I use a plug in for Firefox called Fast Video Download or something. This downloads the flv file to my pc, from there I use Koyotesoft's Free FLV Converter and I can convert it to anything - .3gp, .mpg, .mp3 etc Its not as quick as some others, but the PC can usually download something and convert in around 2mins depending on the download time.
 
A quick search of the interweb reveals that youtube uses the following specs for storing video/audio;

Normal Youtube
Screen Res. 320 x 240
Bitrate ~200 kbps
Audio 22KHz 64 kbps Mono ABR
Frame Rate 30
Video Codec Flash Sorenson
Audio Codec Mp3

High Quality Youtube
Screen Res. 480 x 360
Bitrate ~900 kbps
Audio 44.1KHz 96 kbps Mono CBR
Frame Rate 30
Video Codec Flash Sorenson
Audio Codec Mp3

So it seems anything over 96 kbps is a bit of a waste. Wonder if one day Youtube will support FLAC?
