how do i convert a 3 pin fan to fit into a standard molex? my 3 pin has red-black-blue wires and is a rather hefty delta. is it just red = red, black = black and blue = nothing(or possibly fan speed)?

Red to yellow (12v)
Black to black (Earth)
Blue to nothing (RPM sensor.)

:)

Edit; Or hook it up diffrently if you want to 7 or 5 volt it.

I thought it showed what you were asking. On a 3 pin, yellow is the fan speed and red is 12v with black ground I think.
On molex, yellow is 12v, red is 5v, the blacks are ground

planning to hookup a variable resistor to control better :)
