Hi I am so impressed with my new ebike i just wondered if there is a starting place/guide, price and just how compotent one needs to be to convert a mountain bike to be electrical?

on the other hand... nice to have both worlds and just leave my mtb as it is and use the hybrid ebike when needed

yes just need a conversion kit, decide whether you want front wheel, rear wheel, or mid drive, buying the correct kit, suitable battery shape/size and doing it yourself. There's cadence sensing and torque sensing the latter is the better one.

Not hard I did fitted one

To be UK legal it has to be 250W and no faster than 15.5mph.

got any reccomendations and how much does something like this cost..

yes I hear you about legal limits but I heard some people in a pub recently talk about how their bike goes more than that...

Generally £350 (low quality small battery) to about a £1000- £1500

I went for mid drive bafang.

Need some special tools and bike repair experience which I have so wasn't a problem doing it.

TongSheng have mid drive torque sensing
