I have amassed a collection of avi files which iTunes doesnt like, is there a good 'free' program out there which can do this?

I've had a good look but I'm confused as hell?

Thanks for any help.......:)

What are you converting for?

If it's for iPod (320x240 or 640x480) at different levels of quality, then google iSquint - it's a free and fast converter. It has a bigger brother called VisualHub but I personally use iSquint for vid convertion, in prep for viewing on the iPod Touch:)

Doesn't the iSquint mainpage basically talk-down it's features?

I went there the other day and there's a large list of what Visual Hub does, and iSquint doesnt

iSquint is free isn't it? They are just trying to show you the wonders of their paid for product instead :)

Pityful but boy does that free app does it job :)

Plus, I don't need anything too fancy, Handbrake and iSquint is good enough - and they're both free...

They are made by the same company :p Techspansion
Talking up the non-free version makes good business sense ;)

Yes, but my point is they will end up killing iSquint if they keep pushing that angle.

At first glance (unless you've used iSquint) it (iSquint) seems to have very little features, which are hard to find on it's own main page.
