Converting .avi to .mp4

Hey there

Got a few .avi files that i'd like to convert to .mp4 so they'll go on my iPod. Tried Super but had no luck with that. Any other free converters that work?

I recommend this one http://www.extensoft.com/?p=free_video_converter, works pretty well and already has presets for ipod etc...

handbrake is another app you can use, has ipod presets too.

I tried using this but the batch conversion seem very long winded, i'm having to select each file and then rename it, add it to the list then convert seem a real pain. Or am i doing it wrong?

my recommendation is FreeVideoToiPodConverter, works a treat, they also have plenty of other free video converting software for other uses. Including ToiPhone, but ToiPod does ToiPhone plus supports other video options.
