I have just got hold of a bigwater 760i gratis and was wondering if it's worth changing the loop to 1/2" instead of the 3/8" in currently has?
I know it's not the best kit in the world but for the bling factor I have to give it a go.
Thanks in advance!

I seriously hope you did not pay retail price for it. I wouldn't bother with 1/2" for it.

Try it out, if you think you're gonna like watercooling then invest in a proper kit. Do not judge watercooling on anything thermaltake produce though;).

yes - agreeing wholeheartedly with w3bbo

i would sell it online and look at a custom kit if you are serious about water

Nope I got it for free!! But I also have some half inch tubing and some bits and bobs so I'll give it a go :D
Is there anything worth keeping out of the kit or should I splash out and buy completely new gear? is the pump worth keeping etc?

Thats how I got into watercooling too, free thermaltake components off a mate. After only about 3 or 4 months, the only part left in my loop from whate he gave me is the pump but have a Laing 18W DDC on the way to get rid of that too :p

Their components really arnt very good, but give a basic idea of watercooling. You could do what Ive done and just upgrade 1 or 2 parts a month, just get what you can when you can afford... just make sure you completely swap it out in the end haha

If I'm pushed for room is a single 120mm radiator a valid option? are all rads equal in that respect?

What are you cooling? If its just the CPU then a single rad should do alright... but not amazingly, especially not a Thermaltake one :p

No rads are equal, theres always going to certain ones which will cool better and thats mainly down to size. I swapped out a single and a double Thermaltake rads and replaced with a double XSPC RS240. Now this isnt a particularly good rad, but performs exactly the same as the Thermaltake rads I had in!
