I am too lazy to read but was thinking maybe I could convert the ebooks or pdfs into speech, TTS. I see you can save a pdf as a text file, so that's a start.

However I don't want a robotic voice, is there any options/software out there for realistic voices to do this?

There's plenty of software out there which will convert text to speech but the non-robotic voices can be quite costly.

It would be much better all-round just to buy the audio books.

audible.co.uk

8 quid a month. more audio books than you care to imagine with some great readers.

The type of software in question here is known as a screen reader. The one I use the most is textHELP's Read & Write Gold. It's mainly for dyslexic students, but it was given to me because I'm partially sighted and thus I prefer listening to it than reading it.
