I am looking to swap out my desktop PC and switch fully over to using a MacBook Pro. When at home I still want to be able to hook it up to my 2 x 27" monitor setup (HDMI input), along with an K/B & Mouse. I'm looking at getting the top end 15" MacBook Pro. What would be the best/neatest way to be able to dock it into my setup?

Just buy a suitable USB-C to USB dock for the peripherals and then a further display port dock. It may be worth spending out on the Apple USB-C to DP cables as I know there can be issues with the cheaper ones. macOS, IME, can be quite sensitive to the cables which are used for external displays.

I have seen this previously and it takes up less room on the desk. You will still need a USB-C type hub for the connections.
Isn't that just a really expensive vertical stand? There are ones on Amazon a lot less. I don't see what it gives you apart from looking nice and two USB-C ports (which are on the side anyway). If it had a hub built in with some DP or further USB-C/TB connections I could see why it would be so expensive. Unless I'm missing something?

This is significantly cheaper.

You are right it is an expensive vertical stand. It just looked good from when I saw in the Apple hardware gallery. Your BookArc looks like a good shout at a much better price albeit not as tidy looking.

How does this sound. I've been looking at the Elgato Thunderbolt 2 Dock. I can plug my USB K/B and Mouse directly into it, my network cable, HDMI for 1 monitor, and then buy a thunderbolt 2 to HDMI adapter for the second. That way I can have just 1 visible wire coming onto my desk to plug into the macbook. Any other options?

I've been looking at doing something similar but my 1440p monitor needs to be connected over displayport. Are there any hubs or docking stations that can output to this and usb so I only need the one cable connected to the Macbook?

It doesn't have particularly good reviews on the Apple site.
