Nearly all my MKV's are DTS only but unfortunately because I'm routing everything through a 4x2 HDMI Matrix box DTS doesn't work and can only get PCM or DD 5.1 which tbh I'd be happy with as I really cant tell the difference!

So what is the quickest easiest and cheapest way to convert a DTS MKV to a DD MKV preferably without re-encoding video?

I've been doing a fair bit of this as my LG TV can only play back Dolby Digital(AC3) not DTS.

I do it as follows:-

Download Megui http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/
Once installed, split the audio from the video using tsmuxer in the megui/tools folder - this should take a few minutes depending on file size
Then load the DTS audio file into the main Megui program and convert to AC3
Back to tsmuxer and rejoin them.

Pretty easy. It takes about 20-30 minutes in total (for a full fat 1080p bluray rip).

Thanks for the tip,

After a bit of googling I found this:

Seems to work great and is simpler and quicker than the method you posted, you might like to try it yourself :)

I also have 2 x LG TV's connected through my HDMI Matrix box and thus get the same problem as you :(

I've done a few movies now and have decided to keep the DTS along with the AC3 sound track as you never know what the future will bring!!!!
