I'm trying to convert mkv x264 files to something that will play on my Apple TV. People reckon visualhub does it, but I keep getting files out the other end with just stereo sound. That's with selecting 'Apple TV 5.1' as the profile.

Am I being thick?

Cheers

Do the originals have 5.1 sound?

Did you choose 5.1 and change advanced settings?

Contact the developer.

Just a few suggestions as I am not sure whats wrong there should be fine.

EDIT: If you use the 5.1 + 2.0 your Apple TV might not be using the 5.1 for what ever reason?

I think you have to put the outputted file from VH into some sort of QuickTime wrap in order to get 5.1

It's a nasty thing as far as I can remember.

Hi, the originals do indeed have 5.1 sound, but I haven't done anything in advanced setting. I just selected ATV 5.1 and go nuts.

EDIT: Ah, might have figured it. The video I was trying was a 5.1 DTS track, not DD. Is there a way to convert DTS ?
