Im trying to convert a windows media player movie clip to an mp3 file. What software do I need to do this? Its a music CD that I want to be able to burn to CD and play on a standard CD player. Any help would be good. Thanks.

convert it to a proper video type first ;) (xivd avi)

then in virtualdub, so save wav on the avi, and you'll extract the audio from it

use cdex to convert it to mp3

or use audacity (freeware) to record the sound that the video outputs (choose stereomix in audacity) then save it as a wav

use nero or something to burn it to cd

Download the windows media encoder here:

Convert your vid file (wmv) to an audio file (wma)

Then burn it using Media Player to disk. (You need media player 10 or above)

Get it here if you haven't got it already:

Don't start needlessly complicating the codecs on your computer by installing obscure codecs from freeware programs.

Wait a second if you wanted to play it on a cd player why did you want to create an mp3?

You can just use nero to burn it yes.
