Converting videos for ipod touch

Right...

I want to convert videos to play on my ipod touch whilst I'm away.

I had found an app called Videora but quite frankly it sucks under Vista X64 so I'd like something a bit better.

Is there anything?

I was using VLC to convert, which did the job very nicely.

iPodME does the job perfectly. What I use under Vista x64.

Just to quickly check; is there anyway of getting super to encode in subtitles from .srt files while doing the reencode?
otherwise, which do people find easier, using vlc, mediacoder or ipodme with avisynth? (to quote the ones listed here)
