Does anyone have any experience with these online conveyancer websites that provide quotes? Are they reliable and trustworthy?

I had a quote with a local solicitors, but they wanted in excess of £550 + VAT which I thought was a bit steep.

I'm getting qoutes of around the £400 inc VAT mark online.

Any feeback would be great.

Thanks.

It depends on if there ends up being any complexities, if it goes smoothly it's an entirely remote process and the online ones will do the job. If there's complexities then having local knowledge of the council and how things work can be invaluable. It's definitely worth shopping around but the online ones aren't always going to be as good.

It's being bought from the council. My sister is buying her council flat through the RTB scheme, so it should be pretty straight foward?

Go with a recommendation from someone you know.

You are buying one of the biggest purchases you will make and you are really thinking about skimping over a few hundred in fees.

I would choose a local firm that has been recommended.
