Long story short, i purchased a Jasper Xbox 360 last week for the princely sum of $50 (~30 pounds). I was kinda hoping it may rekindle my love of gaming, but it seems to have failed dismally.

I already own a PS3 and a Wii (ugh), and i'd gotten a tad bored with the offerings... lost interest in the Wii like a year ago to be honest, so i thought i'd see what the xbox scene had in store for me.

I wasn't particularly looking for exclusives, as i purchased Dirt 3 which is on both Xbox and PS3 platforms, but i've sort of come to realise that the Xbox isn't offering anything that the PS3 hasn't already got covered. Selling the PS3 and keeping the Xbox isn't an option, as my PS3 is used as an media center aswell

I purchased Forza 3, as im a racing fan, but i personally think when it's compared to GT5 it falls on it's face. It probably has more tracks and race modes and stuff, but the graphics and the handling of the cars just feels unatural to me. I also got Splinter Cell Conviction (not sure if that's an exclusive), and while i like it, one game isn't enough to warrant keeping the system in my eyes.

Online play is null and void, as i don't tend to game online at all.

I just can't seem to find any games that keep my interest. Here's a list of the last games that even remotely kept my interest:

GT5
Red Dead Redemtion
GTA4 - The expansions bored me
Uncharted Series
Dirt 2
L.A Noire - Finished it for the sake of it pretty much, i do like open world gameplay though.
Splinter Cell: Conviction - Only just started playing this, but it could start boring me quickly
Guitar Hero (All of them) - Already own them all on the PS3 though

And that's about it really. As you can see, it's pretty much racing games and open world adventure/GTA style games.

I'm liking Dirt 3, although i think they've gone backwards in the handling department, it feels like Dirt 1 and they nuked race replays (wtf!). But that's another title i could own on the PS3.

Are there any exclusives out there for me on the 360 that would justify me keeping it, or should i just give it up as a bad joke? :(

Some good JRPG's like Blue Dragon, theres also Alan Wake, also could try Halo out, but TBH GT5 felt dull, lifeless and numb to me

alan wake is really good, gears is a great shooter to play with a friend, lost odyssey is a nice old school jrpg, mass effect is an awesome space opera. Shadow complex is a great game you might like, plays like old school metriod (apparently, never played them) its fun to explore the complex collecting and upgrading things until your the ultimate badass.

That's kinda how i felt about Forza lol. I guess it's down to personal preference.

To be honest, im not a big fan of the Halo series... although i haven't played it since way back when the first couple we're released on the PC, dunno if anything's changed.

And isn't Alan Wake spooky? :o

Oh and just a note, i already have Infamous/Prototype on the PS3 and Just Cause 2 on the PC, and i REALLY dislike Fallout 3 and those type of games... so those are out aswell.

I know, im picky. :p

inFamous is a PS3 exclusive anyway :p, oh you could try Trails HD off XBL (or get the Xbox Live Hits Collection were you get it on a disc with Limbo and another game), realy fun puzzle kinda game

Isn't Trails HD that motorbike game where you have to get from A to B thru a stunt course type thing? I'm pretty sure i have a version of that on the PC somewhere. I also have Joe Danger.

One game i've been meaning to get is Heavy Rain... but again, that's out on both systems. *sigh*

I wouldn't mind getting some games the misses might enjoy too, she likes My Sims racing on the Wii, and i have the Williams Pinball Collection and Zen Pinball on PS3 which she also enjoys.

I'd love to get a Kart Racing game like Crash Team Racing on the PS1, or whatever it came out on but there's nothing out that's really decent like that anymore.... i remember wasting hours and hours on that game.

Yeah thats the game, as far as I know its only on 360 though, also Heavy Rain is only on PS3

Yeah, maybe the HD version is Xbox only? There is a PC version though, im 100% sure of it.

I could have sworn Heavy Rain was on both systems? Oh well, there goes that out the door.

Is there anyother types of games that interest you apart from open world/adventure and racing?

I'm desperately trying to think... and i reckon that's half my problem, i've limited myself too much, to too few genres.

I'm not a big sports game fan, i used to be into fighting games a lot, like Tekken, Mortal Kombat etc. But i already have Tekken 5 (can't see 6 being a vast improvement) aswell as the new MK.

I got Dead Rising 2 for the PS3 thinking it would be a laugh, but it started feeling too restrictive having to go back and forth to your daughter all the time to heal her. Had the same thoughts about Naughty Bear aswell, but that's utter tripe.

I did enjoy Batman Arkham Asylum, but for some reason i lost interest at the section when you have to fight Harley's goons on the electric floor. I just never got around to finishing that. I have so many damn games that i haven't finished or haven't even started. Like Assasins Creed Brotherhood, and Bioshock 2 (even though i only got half way thru the first). I get them with the intentions of playing them, but when i think about it, my mind says "meh" and i go back to playing something else.

I felt same way about Dead Rising 2, I think the next 1 with Frank in it is gonna be better, I haven't liked Tekken since Tekken 3, also Batman AA is worth sticking with, great game

Have you played Darksiders?

Have you played Darksiders?

I haven't, but i just had a look at the gamespot review on youtube, and while the puzzle stuff looks interesting, apparently the controls are dire and the 360 version suffers from bad screen tearing and graphical slowdowns. :(

Lol, guess you can look at it this way, you only got 1 console to buy games for since theres not realy any games on 360 you like :p

Yeah i know, was just hoping i could be convinced otherwise... but it's not looking good.

Oh well, can't say i didn't try. :)

ive been concidering selling my 360 recently too,

2 reasons I keep thinking of to keep it,

1. Xbox's (especially the old model, even Jaspers, which I also own) arent worth nothing these days so no point in selling it.

2. there are some pretty good titles being released during the back end of this year, Call of duty MW3, Battlefield 3 and Forza 4
