i'm convinced that viewsonic VX2025wm 20 is best overall tft monitor from competing products and even from all those newer ones. do you agree?

No, the NEC is better than it in every way bar price.

The NEC is good, but the VX2025WM has the edge in terms of black depth (igonring DVM here), and is also a traditional AR coating for those who prefer that to the glossy screen. It has offers less noisy video playback than the S-IPS panel of the NEC. Only monior points admitedly, but I'd say the VX2025WM is a very good all round screen certainly.

Never used one so I'm not qualified to say, but I also don't think you could say either unless you've used all the competing screens. FWIW if you read all the threads about it here the VX2025wm has it's share of issues just like all other screens - like some having backlight bleed, the lack of scaling options and height adjust etc. Also the NEC is quicker.

Not saying the VX2025wm isn't the best overall 20" widescreen though, it may well be.

it all depends on what your after. first thing to ask yourself is: do you need pure quality regardless of screen footprint ? if so then get a CRT.
if space is limited then move onto the tft arena.
then set a budget of how much to spend and what size your looking for. post your requirements here and people can point you in the right direction for a screen.
