Well it's about that time of year where you have to write the letter to santa and tell the family what the hell you want for Christmas this year, any of you asked for any cook books?

I have given them a few ideas for me:

Nathan Outlaws,
The Galvins cookbook,
Hawksmoor at home,
POLPO,
Michael Roux the collection,
J.Sheeky - Fish,
Eleven Madison Park: The Cookbook,
The Square - the cookbook,
The Complete Nose to Tail: A Kind of British Cooking,
The Family Meal: Home Cooking with Ferran Adria,
The Complete Robuchon

This should get them started! Ha Oh, and I just bought Sat Bains book and bought the Mrs the Great British bake off showstopper one. I like new cookbooks!

I'm dangerous with amazon 1 click...

Just ordered:
The Square: Savoury
Faviken
Bouchon Bakery: Thomas Keller
Zumbo: Adriano Zumbo - For the Mrs!

I have loads yet to do anything from, or something, but I love cookbooks. They're just great reads too!

I have no hestons. I might have a look and see. I flicked through the search of perfection one though and wasn't blown away. The singular modernist cuisine might be a good one.
Has to be better than paying the 300quid for the set of 5!

Absolutely awesome books! I got a brouchure with one of them, with more books in. I'm resisting... not very well. In fact there are 6 books in there. Wondering if I can buy some and give them to the Mrs for Christmas, just so I can have them lol that sounds like a great plan actually.

I've got the flavour thesaurus, it's a great little book.

I accidentally opened a parcel for the Mrs thinking it was one of mine. I have the Hawksmoor at home book for Christmas then! Oops!

No worries, I'm trying to decide how to slip them out in the room/ bookcase without getting a ball ache from er indoors. I might palm off the tapas one to her for xmas and slip a new book in every now and then to the bookshelf lol

Jolteh, it's the at home one, so one book, not 5. It's still over 300quid for the lot and I just couldn't take the kicking I'd get when that crate turned up to deliver it!

Ah I meant for the 5 books in Modernist Cuisine is 300 odd quid, I think the lot above were about 200, but thinking about it, with postage the MC at home was like 75quid, so the modernist cuisine of 5 books is actually only 60quid a book, which works out better value.

I should have used that argument for the Mrs!

I haven't even managed to look at these yet, and another arrived, I'd totally forgotten I ordered. The Sat Bains Too many chiefs, only one indian. Signed as well, which is nice.

The book is really impressive, need to go through it some more but it's huge too. I'll take some pics of some of the content.
