Cookie Removal Software

After trying a number of browsers today I landed up with an irremovable tracking cookie. No big deal really, but when I ran Spybot it found 2 entries for Hitbox.
After erasing them and re-booting they appeared again. Tried Malwarebytes and that didn't even identify them.
After a search for removal sotware (avoiding the dodgy ones) I happened to find "Mil Shield". That removes all cookies, temp. internet files and a host of other files. I gave it a bash and when I reran Spybot, Hitbox was removed.
That says to me that the IE/Options/Remove Cookies etc. facility does not remove all.
If stubborn cookies like Hitman can be removed by a utility like "Mil Shield",are there any other out there that I may want to try. FRee or paid.
I would buy that one but am reluctant to use credit card for a small amount to a US site. Silly maybe I know, but that's me.
Any others that you know of. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies and the recommendation.
Can you tell me it is a fact that the remove option within IE sometimes fails t remove ALL cookies and CCleaner does a better job. Or does CCleaner just perform more functions.
I hope you understand that I beleive that my dodgy cookie was a) left behind by IE removal and, b) could not be removed by Spybot either. If that is true then my requirements would be something likeMil Shield. Does CCleaner fit the bill.

Spywareblaster is PERFECT for this :). It's very light weight and you only need to run and update it every couple of weeks. It works by adding known tracking/bad cookies to your browsers "block" list :).

EDIT: Spywareblaster wont remove any tracking cookies currently on the system, only stop them coming back :).
