ooo fire away
I quite like Amaya which is somewhere in Chelsea. Focus is purely on kebabs rather than curries, and is pretty expensive, but are truly amazing

Better than half the stuff i've eaten in India. More of a place you'd go to celebrate somethign rather than just cause you're hungry. Expect to spend 40-50 per head, excluding drinks.
Recently found a place called Mantra Contemperory Indian dining. Is pretty far in Hounslow, but the two times i've been there, has been exceptional. More traditional than amaya in terms of *** type of stuff they serve, so some nice curries there

Great food, and not too expensive either. Around a tenner for a main course I think. Last time we went, spent about 120 for 4 of us, including 1-2 drinks each. (alcoholic drinks - cocktails, whiskeys etc)
Moti Mehal is another place we found not too long back, and again, only been there twice. Small menu, but good. Wouldn't say it's better than stuff i've had in India, but defintley better than stuff i've had in london. Don't remember price exactly. Not cheap, but not too expensive either. Probably the same, or a little more than mantra I think in terms of that. It's somewhere near holborn, near the club Guanabara.
Lahore Kebab House is one we've been to a few times. Last couple of times, it was a bit of let-down, but it's been a lil while since we went tehre last, so maybe they came back up? Very cheap place, like 4-5 for main, but great food. I think if you tell them to make it extra spicy, they actually do as well

they don't accept reservations, so a bit of a gamble as to how quickly you get seated, but their turn around is pretty quick. We've usually had to wait for 10-15 minutes, but sometimes got seated immediately. No idea how the standard is now, but initially at least, was excellent. Not just good for the price, but actually good
Oh, and another one, again, only twice, but good is Spice Plaza. Haven't been to the restaurant itself, only ordered online through hungryhouse, but it's in hampstead, not at all expensive, and great food. Very traditional, and as usual, I told them to make the stuff extra spicy, and they actually did! Was spicy, but not so much that it ruined the flavour. (And that's saying something. I can take a hell of a lot of spice

) Defintley a place i'm going to be ordering from again, and probably got he retraunt itself soon
I think that's about the only good ones i've found so far in my 3 years in London. Most of them have been recent discoveries, so previously that meant either Amaya, which we can't afford to go to too often, or Lahore Kebab house, or an excercise in futility in finding some other nice Indian stuff.
Hope they help
Oh, and if you've been to any rather nice place in London, would love some recommendations

always willing to try something new ^_^
