Cooking advise for a noob!

Hey guys

I made a thread recently about how to cook steak! Ever since, I've been looking up cooking recipes and such.

I'm 20 and it's about time I learnt how to cook some decent meals.

I was wondering if anyone could

A) Recommend some dishes for a beginner?

B) Give general tips!

I'm not even sure on what the term 'book' means :confused:

Seasoning? Isn't that just salt and pepper

I have a steak left over as well and royally screwed that up last week by doing 3 mins each side so going to reduce it to 2 mins per side and see how that turns out
