Ive got a big amount of chicken that id like to cook all at once, and then save half of it for the next day. Can I just stick it in the fridge straight after cooking?
at least let it cool some , because properly cooling to cold can take hours especially if its a lot of sauce or something, say n hour or 2 is usually what i do with curry, chilli, bolognaise etc..
I do this. Cook chicken, let it cool then store it in the fridge - those clip-down Tupperware containers are good. I've been reheating sometimes up to 3 days later and haven't been ill yet
Just reheated some pasta that I kept in the fridge since Friday night after dinner that had chicken in, ill let you know if im alive tomorrow though if im honest with you, I think im just full.
Let it cool down to room temp then put it in the fridge. How are you cooking the chicken?
If you want it for sandwhiches then chop it into large bite sized pieces and place under the grill for 3/4 minutes. Or, if you want it with mash, roast, etc then bring it up to temperature in a pan of gravy/stock, add a bit more water than normal so that it's the right consitancy when it's ready.
