Had a quick rummage through the ktitchen for something to whip up this evening and settled on this. Was pretty tasty so I thought I'd share it. Really quick and easy to do. My first cooking thread so it may not be written fantastically, but comments are welcome. I'm not really going to use precise measurments for the liquid parts because I just threw it in until il looked right really :p

Ingredients:
Beef escalope or equivilant (chicken works well too)
Soba Noodles
Green Beans
Spring onions
Chilli of your choice (I used a disappointingly tame scotch bonnet)
Shiitake mushrooms
Soy sauce
Mirin
Sesame oil
2 cloves of garlic
Sake (optional)

First marinade the beef. I only did it just after lunch but really should be left overnight for maximum flavour. I put the beef into a container and added approx 5tbsp of soy sauce, 2 tbsp of mirin, a splash of sesame oil and the garlic. Swish it around a bit, seal the container and leave in the fridge either for a few hours or overnight. Add a splash of sake at this stage if you fancy it.

The actual cooking is really easy to do. All I did was chop up the chillis and spring onions and cook them in a pan with a bit of groundnut oil. Usually you'd add some shiitake mushrooms too if you wanted, but I was fresh out >_<.
I put the green beans in a container with approx 1cm of water in the bottom and put it in the microwave on high for 5 mins.
Next I moved on to the noodles and beef. Boil up some water in a pan and add the noodles until al dente (about 5 mins for Soba noodles usually).
For the beef, fetch it from the fridge, add some olive oil or whatever to a pan and cook, but keep a close eye, unlike me. Spent too much time fiddling with the TV and cooked them too much >_<
Anyway, plate up the beef and veg, toss the noodles with a bit of sesame oil to stop it sticking together and it's done.

Finished product (excuse the poor photo quality):

Om nom nom. Highly full now so I shall wash it down with some cherry brandy instead of a dessert.

Those beans look over done to me, but it may just be the image quality. Ta for the post though, always interesting to see what people eat.
I had beans on toast for dinner (I'm having a money saving week, so just using up what's in the cupboards) :(.

Beans were cooked just right, must be the crap image. And yeah, once the beef went in, there wasn't really the need for oil in the pan.
Also if you wanted to make the noodles a bit more interesting, tossing them with some lime juice and lime zest works well. :)
