The road racing season is upon us! The Cookstown 100 will be on BBC1 NI on Monday 7th May (Bank Holiday!) at 22:55.

BBC1 NI is channel 973 on Sky, channel 863 on Virgin and channel 957 on Freesat. Unfortunately Freeview don't broadcast other regions, but it will also be on the iPlayer afterwards. I'll try and put up the link when it becomes available.

I've been trying to avoid the results as I've been waiting for this... thanks for the heads up :)

Yay...gives me a chance to put the freesatbox on, don't use it since having the new TV with freeview on it...well apart from recording the soaps for wife in case we are out :D

Some awesome racing i recorded from eurosport, Guy needs to find a bit of speed for the TT if he intends to pick up any silver.

^^ if it doesn't rain as much as last year and no one drops oil everywhere!

Can't wait to watch the Cookstown on iPlayer tonight.. (don't have access to Sky/BBC Ireland)

Do they hammer it up cookstown high street?!?! I was around there last year and thought it would be really cool to bomb it up the hill in some sort of race.

Well that was worth watching, Guy was unlucky out braking himself, could have had 2 wins.

1 being an honest win eh.. Trying to beat farquhar on home turf is a big ask - even though hes on a 2 year old superstock bike vs superbike ..!

Not the highstreet but its not far from there, few mins drive. Its a good race but its a simple track. Wish they showed the tandragee 100 on TV but a lot of big names don't show up... its a tough course.

Doesn’t matter if its honest or not, the officials gave him the win that’s all that counts! He won with a full 3 seconds as well so chances are he would have passed him.

There are some funny rules in the street racing, not looked into it much but seems pretty much goes.

From what he said afterwards, I think he didn't see the first yellow. He says he raced up to the yellow and then rolled off, but from the footage you can see he rolls off at the second yellow. I think he must have missed the one on the right. Oh well, I'm not sure Farquhar would have been able to beat him anyway.

William seemed to be having a bad day.. once Guy got passed him he shot away. As did Ryan from the group once passed William.. He could have equally passed him in the 2nd superbike race too by your logic

Ryan ran the stocker for the fact he feels more comfy on it. Its a tiny circuit to start the season off and a full blown superbike just makes it awkward out of corners on the power when the standard 1000 is still good and quick round the circuit.

As for the result sticking... ofcourse it was going to stick - "Its road racing not f1". TAS has serious pull and if you start throwing the rule book at them then they simple wont show up next year alongside the BBC (Notice the massive headline coverage for guy martins 1 win wheras very little for Ryan x4 win??)
A yellow flags a yellow flag and it had been flown there for every race, all day, including practice. A farmer (reknown for trying to stop the racing) had closed his gates and moved a hay bale off his land where there was meant to be run off so it wasnt just out that lap.. It was a dirty move and he knew by his dancing around the subject when asked!

phew :D
