I've got a amd x2 3800 low energy that won't slow down. I've enabled c'n'q in the bios and installed amd's drivers.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm using a zalman 7500 with the fan mate so perhaps it needs to be able to control the fan. Its running at about 30C idle but lower would be good too. The fan is set as low as it will go and it works fine so i don't really need c'n'q to slow the fan, just throttle the cpu.
[edit]forget it, I think I've found what I missed (power profile), I'll check it when I get home.
