Hey all

I have the upgrade bug and it wont leave me alone.

I have read a few build threads and put together the following build. After having lived my current PC I have decided I want something quiet and subtle and not the condensed Heathrow (Noise and lights!) I currently have sitting in the corner of my room.

This will live in the corner of my bedroom, so I need it to be as quiet as possible.

Here is what I have put together so far.

Its very possible I wont be buying the graphics card till after the new series of AMD cards are out.

I may also wait on upgrading the HDD and PSU till that time as well so as not to blow so much cash on myself before Xmas.

Any suggestions or changes you would make to improve this?

Quietness is my goal here.

I'd go for the Corsair Professional Series AX750 over the BeQuiet. (And I have. :D )

It's smaller, 160mm compared to 200mm.
Tad more +12 V output. 744 W - 732 W.
7 year Warrenty - 3 year Warrenty

For loads under 150-200 W it's completey silent as the fan doesn't run.

+1 for the Antec P (Might be slighty biased, got a P183 at work too)

If you want something bigger the Silverstone Raven 3 RV03B is pretty good as long as you use quiet components. Be aware these are BIG.

assuming your not interested in watercooling, quietness + standard cooler on the graphics card just does not compute

heres my recommendation:

if you do want to go down the GTX 570 route then go for the windforce 3X (and get the 900W version of the PSI i chose). i chose the 6950 because it will be quieter, and comes with three free games. unfortunately it isnt quite as powerful as the 570

one thing i will say is, i have literally no idea how noisy the PSU ive chosen is

Not a fan of the Antec P series or the Raven for some reason. I just dont like the way they look.

I'll have a look at that PSU. Do i really need a 900w PSU for a single GTX570

nope, something around the 550W mark will be plenty for one GTX 570, but i am pretty sure that for two in SLI you will need more than 700W, so i put the 900W version in to give you that option of going SLI later

Ah thanks. I don't think i will go SLI I always say to myself i will but never actually do, so a single car setup should be fine.
