Hi

A friend of mine who works for a registered charity has asked me to build him a pc to run their pc based cctv system.

The actual system spec is not a problem but what case/fan setup would you recommend that will help keep temps down to ensure a reliable as possible system. **There will be no overclocking involved**

Inside the case there will be 2 x 500gb sata hard drives/cpu/mobo/dvd writer/geovision cctv card/ati 9550 agp card.

Try and recommend me as cheap an option as possible please that will do the job as budget is definately an issue!!

It's recording so I presume the HDD's will be in constant use. Anything with a 120mm front fan that blows air over the discs and with at least one exhaust should be decent enough.

Id also suggest going for a Alu case, its better at dispersing heat build up, and that you will surely get with 2 x 500gb HDDs spinning most of the time.

I too have a CCTV PC, just a basic spec with 2 x 250gb HDDs in there, its a P4 2.26 with stock cooler, its in a PC65 case and so far its been on a little over 6 weeks, in weather like this and its around 50c full load.
 
thanks for the info, and yes both hard drives will be working constantly as it will be recording all the time
 
Just get a Super Lanboy, quite small, light, cheap and 120mm intake and exhaust fans. What more could you ask for ;)

EDIT: other than for ocuk to actually have some in stock!!
 
The Lanboy looks to childish for a professional application, PC7+ all the way or a Jeantech Phong I. :)

There's a reason why; it's the best case for the money :cool: . Looks are a bit bland, but can't beat the build quality.
