Recommend me some albums. I'm thinking along the lines of Herbie Hancock's "Flood" mix. Electric guitars, heavy wah wah and funky keyboards are a bonus.

you could look out for Tom Scott, he wrote a lot of Jazzy TV cop theme tunes in the 70's(IIRC Hill Street Blues was one of his)
