I was thinking today about heat and ways to disperse it, then it hit me, WATERCOOLING, not normal watercooling but complete watercooling, im talking the whole pc submerged in water obviously all the parts insulated properley but imagine the peformance, you could put a refrigirating device in to the water at the front of the tower with a pump of sorts pushing the water towards the back to maintain a really cool temp so you could over clock the comp to insane heights and then a pump at the back sucking in the water from the front towards the cooling device, ive started concepts for this idea and have put it to a few tech experts and apparently it can be done wih the right component insulation and heat dispersion methods, so im very excited to see if this idea would one day make it to the mainstream market.

wow, just wow, amazing idea.

Now just queue up behind the other one hundred and eleven thousand, six hundred and thirty four people to have the idea before you who all thought they were original brilliant and super cool who all failed. THey all realised it could only be done using flurinert, an expensive non electrically conductive liquid with decent properties and that this also has been done hundreds , if not thousands of times just to find its not that cool, not worth the effort and no one on earth cares in the slightest.

See you in two weeks when you make a new thread entitled, "whoa, great idea, how about putting an ENTIRE COMPUTER man, an entire computer IN A FRIDGE or freezer, how cool am I" .

I don't think you are likely to see it as mainstream any time soon, there simply isn't a need, most people (even overclockers) get good enough performance with air cooling. However if you are interested there are a few people who have used oil cooling, this is one of the early attempts but I think there have been more.

LOL, a sealed PC under water would melt in seconds, the air inside it a rather efficient insulator, the hear would never get to the water.

As stated, hyperchilled fluinert would do, then you could fill the case with it, but the point is?

What a nice chap you are :). That was the nicest way you felt you could put your opinion across was it?

Definitely not a morning person, more coffee for that man :)

Great idea!

Let us know how you get on, then maybe you could lend a few of us a few million each to try it ourselves.

Next time you're on to the tech people, ask them to try and bring my idea into reality:

Chips that don't emit any heat!

Ahh well, at least you've got an eye the future. ;)

P.S. Some may find the Tom's Hardware linky at the bottom of that page of interest.

Actually the part you mentioned about chips not emmiting any heat is quite interesting and im not poking fun but with all the r+d that goes in to tech nowa days you never know it might happen in the near future, just look were we where 50 years ago, you tell someone back then thte stuff we have now and they would have carted you off to a nut house lol

I'm sure it will happen, it's just that I can't see much of it becoming mainstream anytime soon.

The chips of the future will probably be mini brains, and if so, why not give them a body and make one your pet.

"Listen fluffy, either you run GTA MCCLIV at 2.8 million FPS or it's no Scooby Snacks for you!"
