Is the thermal paste that is pre-applied to the base of the CoolIt ECO ALC good enough or would something like Arctic Silver 5 be better?

I always replace it, however its not bad paste.

I tend to use MX3 with everything though as it's the best.

Well if you want a noticable temp change then change the paste, however if you're not really pushing your rig then there may be no point really.
