Hi there,

Just enabled Cool n Quiet on my x2 3800/Asus A8N Premium last night, and noticed that my cpu fan is still spinning at about 3100 rpm and my idel temp is still at about 34C (these are more or less the same figures I was getting without CnQ on...)

I downloaded the latest CnQ drivers, applied the XP hotfix, enabled CnQ in BIOS and chose minimal power setting. My clock speed is showing as 1 Ghz now (instead of 2Ghz) so I know that CnQ muts be turned on to some degree. Has anyone any ideas as to why my CPU fan/temp are still at the same figures?

Cheers

hmm, i'm using the stock cooler which is cool n quiet compatible. I think the problem is that my temperatures aren't going low enough to allow the fan to run at a lower rpm. I'm still idling at about 34C with a 1Ghz clock speed (which is more or less what I was idling at with CnQ off)...

Gonna invest in an Arctic Cooler 64 soon anyway, but was hoping that CnQ would quieten my setup til then. It's made no difference to the sound levels at all...
