What implications does having Cool n Quiet swtched ON have for an overclocked system?

I'm having a problem on my 5000 Black Edition which is clocked at 3.0Ghz, I'm wondering whether the CnQ is slowing down the fan speed and stopping me getting anymore than 3.0 ghz

I am clocking purely from the multipliear @ 15x 200 at the moment. If I increase the multiplier to 16x (and add some voltage) I get BSODS and sometimes my PC won't start. Thing is that my temperatures seem fine @ 3.2, so is the CnQ limiting the fan speed a bit too much or what?

Cheers for any help

C'n'Q tends to be very cautious and will only drop CPU clock & fan speeds if it's 100% sure the system isn't needing them.

However, it is good practise to completely disable C'n'Q when you're overclocking. I'd suggest you give that a go :)

Disable it, get the system running stable at your chosen overclock, and then enable C'n'Q again.
