I have about half a bottle of UV black feser1, it's not going to be enough to do a full loop, could I top it up with distilled water?

It says on the side "do not mix with other liquids".

Just use distilled water and some redex/purple ice/other ethylene glycol-based liquird and save yourself £5.

It's not an anwer to your question, but hey. :)

How are you finding F1 in your loop? Mine is brand new but ive noticed what looks like powder blobs in the top of the res ( 5.25 bay )

Any ideas ?

You can't dilute Feser One, so no, don't top it up with distilled, and doubt it's distilled, more likely de-ionised water.

Did you clean the radiator out before starting the loop?

How old was the bottle of coolant, it only has a 6-month shelf life apparently after that it starts to separate and you can get while 'flock' in the tubing.

Bottle was brand new

Yes, but do you know how long it was in the shop? Black's not that popular a colour and it could well be an old bottle.

And then there is always a possibility it reacted with something else - what did you clean the radiator out with?

Hmm well i hope it wasn't that old - is there a way to tell other than it building up in the res?

I know vinegar is one method, boiling water another - i read up on other forums etc and found that boiling water should be fine - its an XSPC RX360 - Hopefully this isn't the problem as my understanding was that XSPC rads where quite good for already being quite clean...
