hi all, i have reached the memory overclock limit in coolbits, its maxxed out at 840mhz but my ram can handle 865mhz when i used rivatuner.
wanted to get rid of all unnecessary software like rivatuner which was only a must when i had my 6800nu and was used to unlock the shader and pipes.

is there a way to increase the limit in coolbits or is rivatuner my only hope?

coolbits maxes out for 840 for me as well, the slider cannot go any higher, so either some modification for coolbits or some other OC software is your only hope at getting higher

ok rivatuner is installed again. and higher speeds are available to me again. odd though hopefully coolbits is sorted out in the future to allow more speed.

the memory slider on coolbits maxed out at 840?
wierd, myn goes upto 950. then again my memory was pre-overclocked

and the core slider goes upto 1.18Ghz :D wow imagine that for an overclock!

i have absolutely no idea how to use rivatuner, lol better learn quickly cause watercooling in not too long, need to see if it can go higher!

my core goes upto stupid Ghz as well, but maybe its cause yours is pre-overclocked, i know the leadtek extreme one goes higher as well with having 1.2ns memory chips

riva tuner also has another problem. the memory clock is not applied at startup. so it defaults back to 700mhz. thats a big no no. everytime i reboot i remembers my core clock speed for 3d use but forgets my ram overclock and nocks it back down to 700mhz.

guess its because of the card limit in the drivers at 840mhz on the ram. wish there was a way of increasing that limit.

not sure what to do now, manually apply ram overclock every startup is a bit of a **** take. guess i will stick it to 840mhz and be done with it. i loose out on 24mhz of ram overclock which is gonna make me a bit gutted. every mhz counts!

if anyone knows how to increase the the limits set in coolbits please let me know.

one way would to be flashing the card with a bios, which has a higher stock memory speed. this makes it higher in coolbits

dont know any other ways :(

ok sorted my problems outish i guess. just using coolbits now and the memory overclock is set to the maximum which is 840mhz.

hopefully some newer driver releases or something sorts the problem out for me so i can get the extra ram speed back. rivatuner is now uninstalled since it is no longer needed. startup is a tiny bit quicker now too.

just messing about with ati tool, and it will extend the memory sliders

so far got it up to 2080Mhz (4160 DDR :D)

so that should allow you to go further than 840

its it voltmodded at all, cause it will be getting edgy about now, like mine did, another 5Mhz on my memory and it overheated, so i guess i should wish you luck :p

all stock volts on my card. learnt my lesson with volt modding with my old 6800nu.

sticking to 840 on the memory now, hopefully one day the coolbits or nvidia drivers will allow a greater limit.

gashman what happened to your card?

my card managed 865 on the ram and is stable in ati tool and has been stable for a month now at those speeds, and iv been hammering it big time with all sorts of games. also i got the vf900cu 2 days ago so now i have ram sinks on my cards memory although they didn;t even get warm during ati tool testing.
