hi there, im thinking after having a new build for around half a year that i need to upgrade the cooler. i have an 15 2500k cpu with stock cooler overclocked at around 4.1 but this often gets upto temps of about 80+ c.

could anyone please offer me some advice on the best cooler for around 30 pounds or less and what insulating paste to get. also any links to guides on changing coolers and cleaning reappling pastes would be great too. thanks in advance

The Gelid Tranquillo is a great cooler in that price bracket - and the supplied gunk is more than adequate.

But if you want some spare TIM for refitting - take your pick of any quality/branded gunk - MX4, AS5 etc... (there's not a lot in it)

MX4 is non-electrically conductive so is useful if you ever plan on reseating or fitting a cooler to a graphics card, which have exposed capacitors and components around the die area, rather than a heat spreader like we see on general CPUs.

i think i may have another issue the height of some coolers seems ridiculous like 15 16 cm i think in my case currently i have a side fan which is say 2cm then i think only maybe 10cm left from that to the mobo. any ideas on good smaller height coolers? sorry to be a pain
