Hi There,

Lately my son has been mentioning that, when gaming, our PC was getting hotter than it used to.
Upon checking I found that, indeed, we were getting into the low 80s when gaming.
When I checked the air coming from the radiator, it was hot at the end with the pipe fittings but the rest was cool. I checked and the pump was running.
Sorry, specs are, ryzen 2700x, asus c7h mobo, cooled by corsair h100 cooler.
Today I replaced cooler with EVGA clc 240 and temps are down to 40-45 in games.
Is it common for cooler to fail like this? Is it the radiator or pump?

Itll be the pump as its the only moving part

I think coretemp has a feature that shuts down your pc if a certain temp is set in it worth setting it up just incase

There are two possibilities apparent to me. Either a failed pump or leakage producing an airlock. If the pump is at the highest point in the loop then a reduction of fluid in the system will cause an airlock at the pump.

As already posted, coolant is not circulating. Probably no saving it but maybe you can move system onto it's side, back, front, upside down and get coolant flowing again but pump is probably badly worn from running dry. Best to get a new cooler.

A good air cooler with good case airflow will cool as well as CLC, cost less an last much longer too. ;)
