This looks like a good third-party cooler, it cools the GPU well, but on the downside it does seem to bend the card due to the height of the VRM heatsinks and all of the heat disipated remains in the case and is not piped out (like in the reference card). Therefore, you will need good case cooling to stop the heat from adversly affecting your other components.
I was thinking about this earlier, and that was all I could think of too. A combo of Thermalright coolers would also work, say the Spitfire. You'd have one facing upwards and one downwards - that'd be enough clearance, but you'd need a big case for it!
