My dad's just got an AMD FX-8150 and is running the standard cooler from my FX-8350 (I upgraded to a Corsair H105).

Anyway he'd like to get an aftermarket cooler for it to keep it nice and cool but also get rid of a lot of the noise. I think his budget it about the £30 mark, and ideally he'd like something that fits in with his red and black theme, so nothing blue/green etc

Any recommendations?

The Deepcool Lucifer or the Ereboss are the ones to get provided you have enough case clearance. I'd recommend the Ereboss just because it's not quite as tall as the Lucifer.

Changing the Goal Posts . . .
I've had a rethink and it's my dad's Birthday coming up at the start of September, so I'm thinking of buying him a CPU cooler, which means the budget has been raised...

I've been looking at the Be Quiet range of coolers and really like the look of the Dark Rock models, BUT I'm concerned the model I choose won't actually fit in his case (he's got a Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced). It's a big case but he does have the side fan installed and wants to keep it, the thing is I don't know if that will interfere with the overall height of the cooler he can run...

Does anyone have HAF 932 case and run a Be Quiet CPU Cooler, I've tried searching for images on the net, but most of them don't have the side panel fitted etc, so I can't be sure on clearance...

I am sure something like a H80i would fit in there...

Yeah I suggested something like hat, but he's dead against any sort of Water Cooling. He uses his PC for work and is on it pretty much constantly, if anything was to go wrong with the AIO and it leaked, he simply couldn't afford for his PC to be out of action.

Then have a look in the used parts section here there may be a higher end air cooler on there for a good price ? but I use my pc every day and while you do see a few people having issues with AIO's there aren't really that many but I do get were he is coming from ... I was like WATER IN A PC !!!!!! ARE YOU MAD when it was suggested to me but I did it and have not looked back I even put one in my son's PC when I built it late last year :)
