Can someone suggest a cooler for the E6300. From what i can gather the Scythe ninja seems to be the cooler of choice.

P.S. a cooler that i don't have to rip everything out the box to put on a backplate with would be nice ;)

tuniq tower/noctua NH-U12F/Thermalright ultra 120/extreme seem to be the coolers of choice at the moment, although i think most, if not all of those require you to 'rip' everything out

Freezer 7 is a good budget version with the 'easier' installation ;)

Bah, why am i not surprised i'm gonna have to pull everything apart again lol. Every other PC i've built i've always bought the cooler at the same time so was easy enough installing it. This time i left buying the cooler for a bit so i had more to spend on the rest of the PC. Dammit i shoulda bought it at the same time :p

Thanks for the input guys.

ive just got a titan amanda, great cooler, good performance, yes, good value for money, no, also worst cooler to fit

I would recommend a Coolermaster Hyper TX cooler, firstly it is very easy to install as it just uses the intel default pins and you do not need to remove the motherboard or apply thermal paste.
I have got one installed and it seems very good both cooling wise and sound wise (close to silent) on my E4300 overclocked at 3ghz, would certainly buy this over the Arctic Freezer Pro anytime though Overclockers do not sell them.

OCZ Vindicator Heatpipe CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

May want to consider the above. Fitted to a couple of overclocked CPUs at work,

E6300 @ 3.5Ghz - 57c Full load, Orthos
E6600 @ 2.8Ghz - 52c Full load, Orthos

The fan is very quiet and uses the standard stock cooler clips, so no ripping off the board!
